What on Earth is Winter Invasion? It’s exactly that! We are invading those territories closest to home to celebrate the launch of this new website, and to make sure that everybody within reach becomes aware of it. It is our vision that Cape Town will make such a big noise about this, that the guys in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Bloem, Joburg and Pretoria will hear it and join with us. And then, as a nation, we will go forth and include the rest of Africa!

We have gathered a number of metal bands, featuring some local favorites, but in the spirit of the metal4africa project, also some of the newer names out there. Splitting them up into three battalions, we have set them out to conquer three territories. Beginning in the outlying Winelands at Aanklas in Stellenbosch, and then moving in toward the city by taking Corner Bar in Durbanville, concluding the assault by striking right at the heart with Roar AND Mordor! An army will be raised and all shall unite at WinterFest’09 on August 1 for one final attack against all things non-metal.
